Shizhu County is not only the national planting & exporting base of rhizoma coptidis, but also the national level scientific research base of rhizoma coptisdis. All of the famous experts and scholars researching rhizoma coptidis have visited CSCC,most scientific achievements related to rhizoma coptidis were made here, and all the recordations of rhizoma coptidis in of Chinese medicinal works are based on Shizhu rhizoma coptidis. Since the foundation of PRC, the scientific researchers successively obtained some important scientific achievements of rhizoma coptidis, such as Planting Rhizoma Coptidis With Forestation,Rhizoma Coptidis Rotation Technology, Research on Seed Selection of Rhizoma Coptidis,etc.;and completed a series of standardization and modernization research and pilot projects assigned by the Ministry of Science and Technology, State Quality Inspection Bureau and Chongqing Municipal Government. During the“10th Five-year Plan”,depending on the advancement in technology,CSCC upgrades rhizoma coptidis industry level and impels rhizoma coptidis industry development; it successively implements many projects such as “Rhizoma Coptidis GAP Standard Cultivation Demonstration Study”, “Rhizoma Coptidis Normalized Manual Cultural Technique Development & Human Resources Training”, “Industrialization Technology Development of the Local TCM Prepared in Ready-to-use Forms”, “Key Technologies Research on Rhizoma Coptidis By-product Comprehensive Utilization”,etc,solved a series of key technologies problems with the rhizoma coptidis industrialization, obtained a batch of core technologies with proprietary intellectual property rights.
